We saw this recipe first on Food Network, and tried their tip to turn a watermelon into a cocktail keg. It worked out pretty good. We ordered the keg shank from kegworks.com ($30 for the kit). After hollowing out the melon, we drilled a small hole near the bottom, and used a knife to widen the hole until it was almost big enough for the keg shank. Then we attached the shank and poured in the cocktail.
This cocktail is also great to serve by the pitcher. We doubled the recipe and kept the second half in the fridge in a pitcher, using it to keep the melon keg full.
