This delicious little cocktail is inspired by the Sidecar, and taken to new heights using blood oranges, giving it a tangy sweetness and the uber lustrous red color. If you’re not able to find fresh blood oranges at your market, you can substitute freshly squeezed orange juice.
Blood Orange Sidecar
Serves: 1
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz cognac
- 3/4 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
- 1/2 oz freshly squeezed blood orange juice (or orange juice)
- orange slice
- sugar, for the glass
Directions: To frost the glass with sugar, rub the orange slice around the rim of the glass. Dip the rim into a plate of sugar, then let the sugar harden. For the cocktail, combine cognac, Cointreau or Triple Sec, and juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for 10 seconds. Strain into the prepared sugar rimmed glass. Enjoy!
