The Margarita Martini combines the best of both drinks in one! It’s also called the Mexican Martini, and can be served in either a martini or a margarita glass. This recipe is for a party – it makes enough for about 20 martinis!
Margarita Martini
Serves: about 20 Prep: 10 min
Ingredients
- 1 750 ml bottle silver tequila
- 2 cups Cointreau liqueur or triple sec
- I cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 cup freshly lime juice, to rim glasses
- coarse salt
- ice cubes
Directions: Combine the bottle of tequila, 2 cups Cointreau and 1 cup lime juice in a large pitcher, at least 1/2 gallon.
Pour about remaining lime juice onto a saucer, and the salt onto another saucer for rimming the martini glasses. Dip the rim of the glass in lime juice, then salt to rim the glasses.
For each drink, measure 2 oz of the tequila mixture into a cocktail shaker. You can mix up to 3 martinis at a time, using 4 oz for 2 martinis and 6 oz for 3 martinis. Add ice cubes, and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Strain the chilled mixture into the salt rimmed martini glasses.
