Add this sophisticated cocktail to your mixing repertoire, and impress your friends with it’s simple, clean taste.  Get a cool cocktail shaker, a jigger and strainer, plus an ice bucket and a nice set of tongs.  Look for a fancy tray and unusual glasses, then top off the drink with an edible flower for a hint of pretty.

Meyer Lemon Collins

Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed Meyer lemon juice (or regular lemon juice
  • club soda
  • small edible flowers (optional)

Directions: Combine vodka, syrup and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice for 10 seconds.  Strain into an ice-filled collins or highball glass.  Top off with club soda, and garnish with flowers.

Note: To make simple syrup, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of boiling hot water and stir to dissolve sugar.  Let mixture cool.  Can be stored in the refrigerator.
