Sweet Tea Mojito

Serves: 6  Prep: 15 min

Ingredients

  • 5 black tea bags
  • 2 cups turbinado sugar
  • 2 handfuls fresh mint
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 limes, juiced
  • 1 1/2 cups light rum
  • 1 cup cold water
  • handful of mint
  • ice

Directions: Bring 3 cups of water just to a boil, reduce to simmering.  Steep 5 black tea bags, 2 cups of turnbinado sugar and 2 handfuls of fresh mint in the simmering water for 5 minutes, stirring to dissolve the sugar.

Strain the mixture into a pitcher, and add the juice of 3 limes, rum, 1 cup of cold water and remaining handful of mint.  Use a wooden spoon to stir the mixture vigorously, crushing the mint leaves.

Chill the pitcher, and serve over ice with lime and more mint.

Tried this recipe for our family & friends get together. This pitcher recipe is fabulous! So great not to be tied up mixing each drink – everyone could serve themselves.

We had the Sweet Tea Mojito pitchers and also made the Margarita Martini pitchers from this site. Definitely recommend!
